Hi,
I have read the manual and I am currently a bit confused with the OPC aspects of iX. I was wondering if a PC OPC client could connect to iX and retrieve PLC data from exposed tags withing iX.
I am familiar with other Beijer software and what i have read in the manual to me seems like the BDTP system used on other Beijer HMI's.
Basically, we would like to use iX run-time on a PC to control a PLC and also on the same PC run a custom data-logging program and access the PLC data via iX (as exposed OPC tags) instead of installing a separate OPC server on the PC just for the data-logger
Is this possible?
Best Regards
John
PC based OPC Server connecting to iX
Re: PC based OPC Server connecting to iX
John,
So long as your custom data logging application can communicate using OPC you will be just fine and this will work as you wish. Our OPC server conforms to industry standards so there should be very little to worry about here.
