ixt4a serial comm with dot matrix epson lx-300+

Post by geomariolis »

hi everyone,
I'm trying to connect m hmi with the printer without result.
I have set the printer in ibm2390+ and port baud rate etc are same as per my port in ix developer.
My pinout is the one from rs232 db9 to db25 (i attached the gif)

.
I have set the character to pc850(multilingual) in the printer.
At the ix developer tag for setting the port No1 in my case i did it like below
port setting1.GIF
port setting1.GIF (110.37 KiB) Viewed 15225 times
According to the manual of the printer the serial port's characteristics are:
printer serial port characteristics.GIF
printer serial port characteristics.GIF (38.45 KiB) Viewed 15225 times
But there is not communication in the end.
Can please somebody give me some help??

to complete my post i will give you more info. I set the alarm server and clicked alarm distribution enabled for just one tag which i'm manipulating it internally.
i have also set the alarm distributor, added the printer at the route with parallel receivers. At the settings of the printer i left the default settings.
Finally at the settings of the alarm items in the alarm server in the alarm distribution tab i clicked Enable Sending To Alarm Distribution Server and clicked Internal.
At the server mode tab i clicked Local.

Sorry for my long text without any photos. I can attach only three.

I managed to solve this.
The problem was the pin out connection. With epson printer lx350 the pin out must be :
  • DB9 -- DB25
    • 2 2
    • 3 3
    • 5 7
    • 7 20
Printer needs nothing more to be adjusted (factory default adjustments) and in ix developer needs only new line character:CR/LF to be checked.
It will work just fine.
:D
