Maximum size of USB memory for T7A and T7B panes.

Post by wlederer »

I tried ones a 16 GB USB memory stick with T7A panel. It was not successful.
Then I found another USB with smaller size and it was OK.
Question: What was wrong, memory size or USB manufacturer?

regards, Waldemar

Waldemar,

We are constantly trying to improve on recognition of thumb drives. The first thing to do is make sure that you are on the latest firmware revision (Build 1080), which you can download from here for T7A:
http://ftc.beijer.se/files/C125728B003A ... _b1080.exe

or Build 309 for T7B:
http://ftc.beijer.se/files/C125728B003A ... _b0309.exe

I know that SanDisk is the preferred brand since it is the one that most of the testing is done with. It is also important to note that the USB needs to be formatted in either FAT, FAT32, or exFAT, since that is a Windoes CE 6.0 requirement.

I have been able to successfully view a 32GB thumb drive on a T7A unit.

Thank You very much Adam. Where can I find a manual for hardware update?

The file above is an executable that you run on a Windows Desktop that is connect via the Ethernet to the T7A/B. It has instructions for you each step of the way.

If you don't feel comfortable upgrading yourself, you are more than welcome to call our Support line and have someone walk you through the process. The number is 801-706-6690.

Thank You Adam. Tried this morning.
Connected T7A to my laptop with crossed network cable. Made ping test, OK.
Checked in the laptop the firewall settings to be sure it is off.
Restarted the HMI with finger touched to screen, got message "Update mode".
Clicked the downloaded file, then "Next", checked the default IP address and mask, then "Next" again.
There was nothing in the "Select operator terminal" and the "Upgrade" button was grey.
What could be wrong?

Try using the IP address of the panel that you were successfully pinging, not the default address. If that doesn't work, try switching the crossover cable to a standard Ethernet cable. Ethernet cards have been getting better at auto switching, so a cross-over cable is not always necessary.

Thank You Adam for the help.

If HMI does not import project from inserted USB, can the content of the USB be copied to another one (which, for example, bought in local shop)? Will it work?
