There is a system tag called "Current User" that can be added. You could connect this tag to an analog numeric or to a text item so that any time the value of this tag changes the text on the screen would change.

Please check the default station that you have set. iX sets it to 0 by default and it should be 1 (please see screenshot). Double check the baud and communication protocols. If you are worried about project size, you can find the projects in the "Project Files" folder inside of your project. This folder will be at the root level of your project.
